An areca palm thrives best in bright, indirect light and needs watering when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry.

Light and Temperature

• Light: Place your palm near a bright window with filtered or indirect sunlight. Avoid harsh direct midday sun, which can burn or bleach the leaves. 

• Temperature: Keep the room warm and consistent, ideally between 18°C and 24°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and air conditioning units, and never let temperatures drop below 15°C. 

Watering 

• Water: Water thoroughly when the top layer of compost dries out, keeping the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Reduce watering during the winter months. 

• Water Quality: Use rainwater, distilled water, or filtered tap water if possible, because areca palms are sensitive to the salts and chemicals found in hard tap water.
